The PIDC Take The Leads In Green Innovation and Assists Industries Improve Competitiveness By Achieving Sustainable Production

Origine des données: Plastics Industry Development Center (PIDC)

The Plastic Industry Development Center(PIDC), is dedicated to plastic technology research and development service, paying close attention to the global goal of net zero emissions for a long time, and actively assisting Taiwan's industries to promote sustainable development. The main service target industries include medical equipment, transportation gears and components, food packaging, green energy technology, smart manufacturing and agriculture. Under the global trend of calling for net-zero carbon emissions and carbon neutrality, the PIDC focuses on the promotion of the concept of green and sustainable development. Taking GRASS material technology research and development as the main objective, the GRASS stands for (G) green materials, (R) recycled materials, (A) advanced composite materials, (S) smart materials, and (S) safe plastics. Combining the five sustainable objectives with plastic material technology research and development, PIDC is determined to develop a new generation of plastic materials in high-value and innovative applications, demonstrating the advantages of green and sustainable materials.

The "Biodegradable Laboratory" of our center is the first and
the only biodegradable testing laboratory in Taiwan that has
passed the accreditation of DIN Certco(Germany), BPI(U. S.
A.), ABA(Australia), REAL(U. K.)and TAF(Taiwan).

In recent years, sustainable living and environmental awareness have been popular worldwide. And many nations have committed to achieving net zero emissions before 2050. Consumers tend to choose more environmental friendly products in daily life. Therefore, increasing numbers of companies are making products with biodegradable or bio-mass materials so that the products can naturally return to the earth, go back into the ecological cycle and reduce carbon emissions.

However, how to prove that the product is compostable or biodegradable? The products must be tested by an accredited laboratory under a defined simulated environment and conditions specified by international standards. As a result, the biodegradation rate, ecotoxicity, and related properties can be qualified. With high-quality service and completed testing/ analytical reports offered by PIDC, clients can obtain internationally certified labels, which benefit global marketing and branding. At the same time, it makes products more secure for consumers.

The first and the only compostability laboratory in Taiwan recognized by certification units worldwide, including DIN CERTCO (Germany), BPI (U.S.A), ABA (Australia), and REAL (U.K.).

As a strictly independent laboratory working conforms to ISO/IEC 17025, OWS.
